"Repent Now And Turn To The Lord" Text
How long have we been living our own way? How long have we been guided by what we think is right? How long have we been judging things the way others judge it? How long have we been too focused on the traditions we know? Do we think about the Creator and His Ways? The Lord created everything and everyone. No person has a right to change any of the Lord's Commands. Do we realize the Lord sees everything? He knows everything. The Lord knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows our hearts. Every person alive has sinned. (Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8; 1 John 1:10) The Lord is long-suffering. The Lord does not want anyone to perish. (2 Peter 3:9) The Lord wants all to repent. We do not know when Jesus will come back. It is getting close but I will not try to predict when. We are not guaranteed even one more second of life. Isn't it time we seriously start thinking about the Lord and His Ways? All of us will be judged by the Lord when this life is over. We need to take that seriously. We need to realize we have sinned. We need to confess to the Lord. Of course He already knows. But we still need to say it and we need to admit it. We need to ask the Lord for forgiveness with a sincere heart. We need to repent and turn from our ways. We need to turn to the Lord and His Ways. We won't be perfect. We need to ask His Forgiveness every time we go against His Ways. I do mean every time. If we did it intentionally, I don't know that there is forgiveness. But if we did it unintentionally or if we slipped back into it I believe there is forgiveness. (1 John 1:9) We need to be sincere when we ask the Lord for His Forgiveness. We need to put God's Ways above our traditions and the traditions of others. We need to put God's Ways above what we want. Let us turn to the Lord and His Ways. If we have slipped, let us turn back to the Lord and His Ways. The Bible says the only sin that is unforgivable is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 12:31-32; Mark 3:28-30; Luke 12:10) That sin has to be intentional. If you are afraid you committed it I doubt you have. Salvation is based on Jesus. But we have to more than believe. What are we waiting for? Let us repent now and turn to the Lord. Let us turn to the Lord and follow Him.
