“Many Parts Are Misunderstood“ Text
There are parts of the Bible that are easy to understand. There are many parts of the Bible that are misunderstood because of our lack of understanding. In Genesis 1:26, God says let Us. Deuteronomy 6:4 says the Lord is One. Is that a contradiction? No. Elohim is the Word for God in Genesis 1:1. The word one in Deuteronomy 6:4 is Echad. Echad can mean more than the number one. It can mean uniqueness. It can mean unit. For example, a husband and a wife are one unit but they are two people. John 1:18 and 1 John 4:12 say no one has seen God. There are many Scriptures that show people did see or hear from God. Genesis 12:1-3 and Genesis 15:1 show God talking to Abraham. In Genesis 18, God in the flesh visited Abraham. Exodus 3:2-4, Exodus 3:13-14, and Exodus 33:11 show God communicating with Moses. 1 Kings 19:11-13 shows God communicating with Elijah. 1 Samuel 3:1–14 shows God communicating with Samuel for the first time. Exodus 24:9-11 says they saw God. Are these contradictions? No. No one has seen God the Father. The One that is known as Jesus was the God of the Old Testament. In the Book of John, Jesus said I Am. (John 8:12; John 10:9; John 10:11; John 11:25-26; John 14:6; John 15:5) The most obvious is John 8:58. Many miss the meaning but those alive at the time knew what Jesus meant. There are Scriptures through the Gospels showing Jesus is God. (Matthew 9:2–6; Matthew 14:33; Matthew 16:15–17; Mark 2:28; Mark 4:39; Mark 14:61-64; Luke 21:33; Luke 22:69–71; Luke 24:52) 1 Corinthians 10:4 shows Jesus was the God of the Old Testament. In Proverbs, wisdom is described as a woman. (Proverbs 1:20-21; Proverbs 3:15-18; Proverbs 8:1-3; Proverbs 9:1-6) Is wisdom a person? Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the dead know nothing. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 says the dead in Christ will rise first. Matthew 5:5 says they will inherit the Earth. Revelation 5:10 says they shall reign on the Earth. So why do people believe followers of Christ go to Heaven when they die? They sleep until He comes back. Then followers will be with Him on the Earth. Followers will be with Christ. I am not going into everything in this message. We need to be careful what we believe. Test all the teachings of people against the Word of God.
