"Past Depression Taints Current Vision" Text

Past depression taints current vision. Pain and trauma from the past can distort how we view things in the present. Even if things are great now, our minds may be stuck in the hurt. I don't believe we ever fully get past deep down depression. Hopefully things get better. But our minds may still keep flashing back to the hurt. It can affect how we see things now. If we spent years feeling no one cared, we may wonder if those around us actually care. If we have been abandoned, we may wonder will those in our life now leave too. If we felt we were worthless, we may still doubt our worth. There are so many ways the pain from the past can still haunt our present. We may wonder when the good will end. It is like waiting for the other shoe to drop. We need to realize the pain from the past can still affect us mentally and emotionally. Maybe physically too. The hurtful things will creep into our thoughts. Something may trigger it. Nothing may trigger it. We have to fight our way through it. We may give into the feelings for a bit but we cannot stay there. We have to fight through depression even when we think we are past it. Reach out to someone. Tell someone how you feel. No matter how you feel, pray through it. The Lord can get us through even when no one can.
