"Intercessors And Forgiveness" Text
Followers of the Lord are all called to pray for each other. We are to pray for the ones we know. We are to pray for ones we do not know. We are to pray for ones we like. We are also to pray for ones we do not like. It is not wrong to pray for ourselves but we need to pray for others too. Pray for health, strength, wisdom, guidance, protection, revelation, and salvation. These are all good things to pray for. Philippians 4:6 says to pray about everything. We can and should forgive others when they have done something wrong to us. The Lord tells us to forgive as He forgave us. We can forgive what others have done to us. But we cannot forgive sins. Only God can forgive sins. (Isaiah 43:25, Micah 7:18, Mark 2:7, Luke 5:21) We are to pray for people. We are not to pray to people. We are only to pray to the Lord. Jesus is our Mediator to God. (1 Timothy 2:5) Jesus is our Advocate. Jesus intercedes for us. (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25, 1 John 2:1) We are not to pray to anyone but the Lord. Saints that are alive or dead are not to prayed to. Many pray to Mary or saints that have died. That is wrong. Only pray to the Lord. Pray for people but pray to the Lord. People can forgive us of things we have done but they cannot forgive our sins. No person can forgive our sins. When we have done wrong to a person we need to ask for their forgiveness. We also need to forgive. To have our sins forgiven we need to ask the Lord for His Forgiveness with a sincere heart.
