“Every Day Is A Day For Prayer” Text
Today is the national day of prayer. Every day should be the day of prayer. Prayer should not be one day a year. Worshiping the Lord should not just be one day a week. We are to pray every day through the day. We should not just pray when we are commanded to. We should not just pray when we are in need. We should thank the Lord when we get up. He did not have to wake us up. We should thank the Lord for getting us through the day. The Lord is the reason why we make it through the day. We should thank the Lord for everything we have to eat. There are so many reasons to thank the Lord every day. There is nothing wrong with praying when we are hurting, sick, or suffering. There is nothing wrong with praying when we are scared. We should pray at those times. But our prayers should not be only at those times. We should pray for guidance. We need to pray to ask the Lord for His Forgiveness every time we sin against His Law. I do mean every time. We should pray to help us forgive others when they do wrong to us. We should pray for others when they are suffering. We don’t need to know the exact needs. The Lord knows what they need. There is no end to the things we can and should pray for. We should have the right motivation when we pray. Prayer is communicating with the Lord. We should be honored that He listens to us. It is good to talk to Him. But we also need to take some time to listen. Sometimes He communicates in a Voice but sometimes He communicates through our thoughts. He always communicates through His Word, the Bible. The Lord communicates to us in many ways. Every day is a day for prayer.
