"Be Careful What You Believe" Text

You shall have no other gods before God. You shall not make idols. You shall not take the Name of the Lord in vain. Remember the Sabbath day. Keep it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not bear false witness. You shall not covet. (Exodus 20; Deuteronomy 5) Many believe and teach we do not have to keep the Lord's Ten Commandments. Where did they learn that? That is not what the Bible teaches. Is it now okay to lie, cheat, and kill? Of course it is not. Most people agree that nine of the Commandments are right. I think most believe that. It is only the fourth Commandment they do not like. We cannot pick and choose the Commands of God that we like. Our Holy Creator created His Holy Commandments. The Lord does not change. (Psalm 119:89; Malachi 3:6; Isaiah 40:8; Habakkuk 3:6; Psalm 41:13; Hebrews 13:8)  If we believe the Lord does not change why would we think His Law changed? Jesus taught the Commandments are more than just our actions. They start with our thoughts. (Matthew 5:21-45) 1 John 3:4 says sin is the transgression of the Law. What Law? God's Ten Commandments. Jesus said if we love Him keep His Commandments. (John 14:15, 21, 23)  Read Revelation 12:17, Revelation 14:12, and Revelation 22:14. The Lord's Commandments will be the Law when Jesus comes back. The Commandments will be the Law in the world to come. The One that became Jesus gave the Ten Commandments. His Commandments are His Law now.  "These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. And they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrine rules made by men." " (Matthew 15:8-9) " "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and don't do the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46) Be careful what you believe. Be careful what you teach. We will be held accountable. We need to go by what the Bible actually teaches. It is God's Word. The Bible teaches Jesus was crucified but it does not say that it was on a Friday. It was before a High Sabbath which can be any day of the week. He was risen on Sunday but the Bible does not teach that He just rose on Sunday morning. There are many things we do that go against God's Teachings. God is the Creator. The Lord created the Commandments for all His Followers to live right. We need to repent from our wrong ways. We will mess up because we are flawed people. When we do we need to ask His Forgiveness and try again to live right in His Sight. If we are followers of the Lord He needs to be our Authority. His Ways are Right and Holy. We cannot do things just because others do them. We always need to go back to what the Bible teaches.
