Parashat Vayikra 5785 / פָּרָשַׁת וַיִּקְרָא

5 April 2025 / 7 Nisan 5785

Torah: Leviticus 1:1-5:26

Haftarah: Isaiah 43:21-44:23

Gospels: Luke 1-3

Leviticus came from the Levites.

There are no sacrifices today because there is no Temple.

Jesus Christ is the ultimate Sacrifice.

The sacrifices in the Temple were a shadow.

There were sacrifices as long as the Temple was standing.

Even Abraham's sacrifices shadowed what Yeshua did before time began.

Messiah's sacrifice is greater than those in the Temple.

Messiah loved us and gave Himself up for us.

His Blood was before the Father in the Heavenlies.

His Sacrifice was available before the world was created.

Yeshua's Sacrifice was placed in the Heavenly Tabernacle and is eternal.

People brought sacrifices to draw closer to God and to bring gifts.

Not all offerings were for sin.

They brought sacrifices because they loved God.

The sacrifices only pertain to this world.

The sacrifices were onky for unintentional sin.

There is no offering for willfull disobedience.

Repentance was the ony thing then and today that covers the world to come.

The Old Testament people were saved the way we are by grace through faith through repentance.

We can't just sin and think it will be okay.

Sin is serious.

David willfully sinned and genuinely repented.

People cheapen grace.

Christ was here before Adam.

Yeshua was Perfect.

Christ was Perfect in all means.

By one man (Adam) sin entered the world.

By One Man (Yeshua) sin was atoned for.

1 Corinthians 15:47

Ezekiel 1:26

Adam was made in the Image of Yeshua.

Yeshua was a vicarious sacrifice for us.

Yeshua is the Ransom for our sins.

He took all that on Him.

Without the vicarious sacrifice we have no hope for the world to come.

Without Yeshua's Sacrifice we would have no hope.

When man sinned it affected all of creation.

God renews creation daily.

But you can't stop the cycle of death.

There is nothing in this world that can atone for the next world.

Yeshua shared matzo with His disciples at the last sedar and told them to remember.

Every time we do the Lord's Table we are remembering His Death.

Messiah means the Anointed One.

Yeshua lived a sinless life.

John 14:27

Ephesians 2

You can't be a Christian and be antisemitic.

Without the seed of Abraham you don't have salvation.

Jews are still Jews.

Gentiles are still Gentiles.

We are one together.

Yeshua brings peace to the Jew and Gentile.

Yeshua's Sacrifice is eternal.

His Death and Resurrection cleanses in the Heavenly Tabernacle.

Hebrew 9:13-14, 28

Before we had Adam Yeshua already had this accomplished.

It's as if God prepared the remedy before we had the disease.

Genesis 22

When Abraham said God would provide a lamb he was speaking prophetic of The Lamb.

You can't appreciate the things Jesus said and did without Leviticus.

Without Leviticus you have no framework why He did what He did.
