"Are We Faithful"

"Are We Faithful" Text

Are we faithful?  Every person has a sin nature. We all sin and have sinned. Those sins separate us from God. Sin earns death. There is nothing we can do to change that. God the Father sent His Son (known as Jesus) to die for us so we can be reunited with Him. The Son came from Heaven became flesh then died for us. Not only did He die for us, He was tortured for us. He took the penalty that our sins cause. He took our punishment. The Father sent. The Son came. Father and Son showed great love toward us. We did not earn anything. Are we faithful to the Lord? Do we think we are? Are we honestly faithful to the Father and the Son? It takes more than belief in the Father and the Son to be faithful. Believing is great. Following is better. Do we think we are being faithful to the Lord when we do the opposite of what He says? Yes, we all sin. We will slip up. We can be forgiven. But are we intentionally doing the opposite of what the Lord teaches in His Word, the Bible? So many teach the opposite of what the Bible teaches. Are we going by their teaching? Have we even looked into what the Bible says about what they teach? Many misunderstand. Many deliberately teach the wrong things. There are some that teach what the Bible actually teaches. We need to always look into the Bible to check the teachings of people. I can give several examples of the wrong teachings of people. For this message, I will stick to one example. The Ten Commandments and God's Law have not been done away with. Jesus made the Commandments more binding than taught in the Old Testament. All Ten Commandments are to be obeyed. They have not changed. They will not change. That includes the seventh day Sabbath. Being a believer in Christ does not make us faithful to the Lord. We have to be a believer and a follower. We have to live life the way the Lord commands if we want to be faithful. We will never be perfect when living in this flesh. But our aim needs to be to honor the Lord and obey His Ways. When we sin, we need to ask His Forgiveness with a sincere heart. Repentance is not a one time thing. Are we living as the world does while saying we are a believer? Or are we trying to live as the Lord commands? Are we faithful? Think about it.
