Parashat Eikev 5785 / פָּרָשַׁת עֵקֶב
16 August 2025 / 22 Av 5785
Torah: Deuteronomy 7:12-11:25
Haftarah: Isaiah 49:14-51:3
Gospels: Acts 6-7
Eikev means because.
That is the root word for the name of Jacob.
Messiah is the proof of God's Covenant Love.
There were nonJews that left Egypt with Israel.
Keeping the Commandments is not about salvation.
There was no sin in Yeshua.
Yeshua was born of a virgin.
Yeshua is the second Adam.
Adam was formed from the dust.
Yeshua did come out of the womb but He did not come out in a normal way.
He had no Earthly father.
He was Divine.
He had no evil inclination.
The Messiah was the only man that had two natures.
He was fully human and fully Divine.
John 1,2,3
He is the Only Son of God.
He is fully God and fully man.

The Jews being in Israel is a prophetic sign.
You can't have the Messiah coming without Jews being in Israel.

The material is not our source.
God is our Source.
Yeshua is the Bread from Heaven.
He is the Divine.
Deuteronomy 8:3
There is a connection to faithfulness to God and our provision.
We have to be in God's Word every day.
It's about trusting in the Lord daily for what we need.
Matthew 4
A son of man can be any person but The Son of Man means the Messiah.
He is the Bread that feeds us.
John 1
God spoke and created everything.
Yeshua is God.
He is not a created being.
He is from within the Father.
Our words are us.
Yeshua is the Word of God and He became flesh.
Man is unworthy.
Yeshua is salvation.
He gives us His righteousness.
We can't be saved without hearing the Word of God.
People need to hear the Word read outloud.
There is power there.

When we do Torah we do the things Yeshua would do.
We are becoming more like Him.
It's a spiritual battle.
We have a flesh.
We still struggle.
We should be growing.
We can't do this on our own.
It's a daily thing.
It is a struggle.
We all struggle.
You walk in your salvation.
It's a walk.
It isn't a one time event.
We are nothing.
We need God.
He gives us Christ for salvation.
We are not righteous on our own.
Deuteronomy 9:4-6
Whenever God repeats Himself it is important.
By what standard are you good?
Who says you are good?
We're not good.
Psalm 51
The Word of God is our Authority.
We have to stay firm on God's Word.
We have an Advocate to the Father.
Yeshua gives us His Righteousness.
Romans 11
The first Festivals were accomplished in the Messiah's first coming.
The second Festivals will be accomplished in His second coming.

Yeshua's coming is associatiated with the shofar blast.
Revelation talks about the Book of Life.

We study Torah because we know the Lord is coming.
