“The Sabbath Is A Sign” Text
The Sabbath is a sign. It was not only an Old Covenant thing. It was not only an Old Testament thing. The Sabbath was established in Genesis 2:2-3. That was long before nations, tribes, and counties. Jacob was renamed Israel. The Jews are only one Tribe of Israel. The Sabbath is the sign on our heads and on our hands. (Deuteronomy 6:8) We think with our minds. Our hands symbolize our actions. The Sabbath is still commanded for followers of the True God. The Sabbath is still a sign for all followers of the True God. Read Exodus 31:13, 16-17; Exodus 13:9; Ezekiel 20:12; John 4:22; and Romans 2:28-29. The One that became known as Jesus commanded all Ten Commandments before He was known as Jesus. When He lived as a man, Jesus magnified the Ten Commandments. He did not keep them so we did not have to. He showed us the right way to live. No one has a right to change any of the Lord’s Commandments. Followers honor the 7th day as the Lord commanded. That is a sign that we are followers of the True God. If you want to honor the day Jesus was resurrected, honor Saturday. He was not resurrected on Sunday. Breaking the Lord’s Commandments is serious. We can be forgiven but first we have to realize and truly ask forgiveness from the Lord.
