"Believe Or Follow" Text
Truth is truth even when no one agrees. Right is right even when no one understands. Do our actions support a belief in the Lord and His Word, the Bible? Or do our actions show we follow the examples of others? A follower of the Lord is always a believer but a believer is not always a follower. Many believers follow the Lord to a point. But a lot of their actions show they follow the world. If you believe in the True God great. (James 2:19) It takes more than just believing to be a follower of the Lord. Many teach the Ten Commandments have been nailed to the cross. No. The penalty has been nailed to the cross. (Colossians 2:14) God is Eternal. (Psalm 119:79; Isaiah 40:8; Habakkuk 3:6) His Law and His Commandments have not changed. (Matthew 5:17-18; Matthew 24:35) All Ten Commandments are for followers of Jesus. All Jews are Israelites but not all Israelites are Jews. Jacob was renamed Israel. The Israelite Kingdom split in two after King Solomon's death. The Kingdom of Judah became known as the Jews. There was also the Kingdom of Israel. The Kingdom of Israel was scattered. No one has seen God the Father. (John 1:18; John 6:46) Jesus is the God of the Old Testament (Exodus 3:14; John 8:58; 1 Corinthians 10:1-4) Jesus gave the Ten Commandments. No one has the right to change any of His Commandments. Most agree with nine of the Commandments. But the Fourth Commandment still applies. The Lord set aside the seventh day not the first day. We can't do things the way we choose and honestly be following the Lord. We have to do things His Way. We will fail at times. When we do, we need to ask His Forgiveness then keep going His Way. Let us not forget that Jesus said not everyone that calls Him Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 7:21) Many things people teach go against what the Lord teaches through His World, the Bible. We need to always check teachings against what the Bible says. Do we believe in the Lord but follow the world? Believe or follow? Or believe and follow? What do you choose?
