Sermonette:
Matthew 6 gives an outline about praying for daily bread.
But what about the spiritual needs?
Ephesians, Colossians, and Philippians were written when Paul was in prison.
Colossians 1:9
The first thing Paul asked for is the Lord give the brethren knowledge and insight.
Physical insight without the knowledge of God is worthless.
We pray the brethren would learn God's Word by doing it.
Wisdom is the application.
James 3:15-17
There is the wisdom we see in the world in many parts of society.
We want the James 3:17 type of wisdom.
Pray for the brethren to have knowledge and wisdom.
Colossians 1:10
We need to live our life in conjunction with what God says.
We need to be pleasing to God.
We need to pray that the brethren do this.
We need to walk with God.
We need to follow the example Jesus Christ set for us.
Long-suffering is the quality of self restraint.
God is the Example of long-suffering.
God is long-suffering toward us.
We must have long-suffering in us and pray for the brethren to do so.
We do not seek revenge.
God says vengeance is mine.
Matthew 24 says he who endures to the end will be saved.
When we hear someone going through trials pray for the physical and spiritual needs.
God's Power is beyond anything we can see.
Pray for the spiritual needs for the brethren.

At Mount Sinai it began.
He brought His people there.
Exodus 20-23
God gave the Commandments, Statues, and Judgments.
Exodus 24
The people heard it twice.
Twice they said all God said we will do.
This was the establishment of the Covenant of God and His Chosen people Israel.
God wants us to be Holy like He is Holy.
Exodus 25
God wanted to live among them.
God's wanting to dwell with them is the heart behind giving the Commandments and Statues.
It was the beginning of a relationship.
It's all about relationships.
He wants and desires to have a relationship with us.
God is all about relationships.
There is a reason why God does what He does in everything.
In Exodus 19:3-5, God gives Moses the reason behind it.
What God did in the Old Testament is shown in Jesus in the New Testament.
Matthew 23:37
God's people were to be a model for all people.
Deuteronomy 14:2
The only way they could be a holy people is because they were connected to God.
God is the One that makes things Holy.
God knew the people would break His Laws and sin.
God established a way for people to be brought back to holiness.
Exodus 28
God is the One that set up the Priesthood.
Aaron was the first Priest.
Kohen means Priest.
One of the primary functions of the Priesthood was to minister to God.
The Priesthood was to be a mediator between a Holy God and a sinful people.
They were to teach the instructions of God to Israel.
They were supposed to vacillate the Worship God in a prescribed way.
God cannot be worshiped any way we want.
Leviticus 17
Leviticus 15:31
The Priesthood was the middle step between God and the people.
Nehemiah 8
You worship God the way He wants to be worship not the way you think He wants to be worshiped.
Leviticus 10
God requires that He be respected and worshipped the way He wants to be worshiped.
It is important for the leadership to do right.
Priesthood is no longer limited to the line of Aaron.
One of the roles of the future Priesthood will be to work with the King.
Zechariah 14
Restoration begins in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 61
Part of this prophecy is of the Messiah at His first coming.
Part will be fulfilled in His Second coming when He establishes Himself as King of kings.
This part is future.
Zion is another name for Jerusalem.
Jesus will give comfort and restoration.
Jesus returns with His Saints.
Revelation 20:6-
The Priests will be those raised in the first resurrection.
They will be Priests of God and of Christ.
The resurrected Saints will be the Priests in the millennium.
Jesus Christ will rein from Jerusalem and it will be the Temple where He reins.
Zechariah 6:12-13
Scripture makes it clear that Jerusalem is where Knowledge of the Lord will come from.
Isaiah 22-3
That will be the epicenter for the entire world.
That is where people will look to for guidance in every way.
The Lord will dwell among the people.
He will live among His people.
Ezekiel 43:7
The Lord has always wanted to live among His people.
He will when He comes back.
Ezekiel 44
This is part of what God has in-store for His Priesthood.
There will be physical things for the Priesthood to perform.
Many times God does things in the physical so people can see to help them learn.
