Sermonette:
We are living in unique times in history.
"Proclaiming a fast"
The ministries God has placed over His Church have a unique perspective.
They have a perspective ordained by God.
2 Chronicles 20
Recognize our Creator.
Over all nations, He is in control.
God said go down against them.
They had to do their part.
We need to see what we can do.
That next step takes faith.
It is amazing what God will do when we show that to Him.
Psalm 136
God is our Creator.
Psalm 136 is known as a battle Psalm.
Let us not forget what God has done for His people during the ages.
When we humble ourselves we realize how dependent we are on God.
Between Sermonette and Sermon:
Let's remember our constant dependence on our Creator.
We can forget if nothing goes wrong.
Sermon:
"Being faithful in little"
God told Noah to build an ark and this ark was a huge boat.
Genesis 6:22
He did everything down to the detail.
Noah had to do it according as God commanded.
Genesis 26:5-6
Abraham paid attention to details.
He did everything as God commanded.
He backed up his faith with actions.
Abraham obeyed what God said to do.
Moses was faithful in all God's House.
Hebrews 3:5
Being faithful means a lot to God.
Being faithful in little means a lot to God and our Savior Jesus.
Luke 16
The unjust steward was thinking ahead.
Little things mean a lot to God.
We are to be a witness.
We have a very important part with what little we have.
And God looks at that.
Little things can make a big impact.
Jesus Christ said My House has many mansions.
There are many jobs.
God has a plan for all eternity.
If we are faithful in a little we will be faithful in much.
No one can serve two masters.
We have to be faithful and loyal to God.
We should only serve God our Father and Jesus Christ.
We need to understand what is important to God.
What is our treasure?
Many people put their hope in getting rich.
That becomes their god.
Where do our treasures come from?
We're given fresh air, food, etc.
God owns it all.
He wants us to have 90%.
He only requires 10%.
God owns everything.
He allows us to have life and things that sustain life.
God requires that small percent.
Malachi 3:8-
If we don't take care of this detail we are robbing God.
This is part of the reason we are in debt.
Nations have disobeyed God.
God created everything.
He holds everything.
God is real.
We do what He says to do.
We have the Church Christ built.
The Church has a purpose.
There has to be food in God's House.
When you obey God you start to see a principle.
You can never outgive God.
We don't want to deny God what belongs to Him.
When you tithe you are reverencing God.
By obeying Him you are growing in understanding Him.
We rob God when we don't give tithes.
You cannot outgive God.
That is one of the blessings.
God will rebuke the devour.
God will help you see what you need to do.
God requires a detail.
Deuteronomy 14:22-
Think about God's Blessings.
The Work of God comes first.
You can pray after you have given.
He will help you see He does not neglect that promise.
We are to rejoice before God.
That includes sharing.
We are to be faithful in these things.
Matthew 25:14-
God owns everything.
What is the money we give to God?
But it means a lot to God.
He is teaching us.
God sees that faithfulness.
Jesus Christ will say 'Well done good and faithful servant ".
Whenever you are faithful in tithing and giving you are growing in faith.
Faith works by love.
You are growing in love.
Money is a tool.
Matthew 6:3-4
Matthew 25:35-40
It starts with tithing.
The small things really do mean a lot.
Tithing is a small thing but it means a lot to our Father.
No one sees what you did in secret.
But God sees.
Acts 20
Let's remember to be faithful in the little things.
After Sermon comment:
There are a lot of things we can give including encouragement.
