At 8-years-old, Ty is a singer. He hates it. Four years later, he runs away. At 18, Ty is living in a cabin he built. He does not want his parents to know where he is. Ty gets an email from Nick (9). He does not want Nick to be hurt the way he was. Ty adopts Nick. Soon after adopting Nick, Ty learns Nick was taken from his family. He takes Nick to his family then leaves. Ty said it would be better if he was not there. After learning about Ty, Nick's family starts to look for him.
