At 8-years-old, Ty is told by his father the hotel is his reponsibility. Ty is told his parents are leaving. For ten years, Ty secretly runs the hotel with only one person noticing. Wayne does not make himself known to Ty. When Ty is 18, Gabriel (18) starts working at the hotel. Gabriel feels he is led to work there. He tries to befriend Ty. Ty is used to being alone and resists. When Ty gets hurt saving Gabriel and his cousin Nick (9) during a bad storm, his life starts to change. Ty does not understand why they care. When he leaves the hospital, Gabriel's father (Chris) insists Ty move in with him, Gabriel, and Gabriel's brother (Jye). Ty says he will stay until he is healed. Gabriel and his family try to help Ty. Wayne continues to watch over Ty.
