INT. – CABIN, GABRIEL’S BEDROOM – AN HOUR LATER
Gabriel is on the bed. He is leaning against pillows. Ty walks in. Gabriel watches as Ty walks to the bed.
TY
Don't risk your life anymore. That's my job.
Gabriel sits up.
GABRIEL
What does that mean?
GABRIEL
(beat)
You got me out of that room in that building on fire. That wasn't the first time you did something like that was it?
GABRIEL
(beat)
Your parents died when you were 8. You were in some bad foster homes then you were alone all those years. You told that man to hurt you instead of me when you thought he was going to hurt me. You said no one would miss you. Then you save me in that fire. Are you so used to being alone that you often risk your life to help others?
TY
Don't risk your life again. You would be missed.
GABRIEL
You mean a lot to us. We care about you.
TY
I know.
GABRIEL
You know we care about you?
TY
Yes.
GABRIEL
But you don't understand why.
TY
That is correct.
Chris walks in. Gabriel leans against the pillows. Chris looks at Ty.
CHRIS
You also need your rest.
TY
My back is healed.
CHRIS
Your back is still hurt.
Jye walks in.
JYE
Haven’t you learned that arguing with our father is pointless?
Ty walks out.
