Ty sits on a chair. Michael turns a chair to face Ty then

sits on it.

MICHAEL

Please do not be afraid.

TY

You are not safe with me around.

MICHAEL

We are safe.

TY

I’ve run away many times. He always found me. They always

sent me back. If he finds you with me he will hurt you.

Ty starts to cry.

TY

I don’t him to hurt me anymore but I’d rather him hurt me

than hurt you.

MICHAEL

Sweet boy, please do not worry about me.

TY

I don’t want you to get hurt.

Michael stands up then kneels facing Ty.

MICHAEL

Your parents gave up all parental rights.

TY

It’s a trick.

MICHAEL

They will not hurt you anymore.

Michael pulls Ty close then embraces him in a hug.
