Ty is sitting on the top step. Michael walks over. Ty looks at him.
MICHAEL
You can talk to me any time. I am always here for you kids.
TY
You still want me here?
Michael sits on the step on Ty's left then turns to face Ty.
MICHAEL
Of course I still want you here.
TY
My parents hate me.
Chris walks over.
CHRIS
Those people are not your parents.
MICHAEL
Chris, you're not helping. Let us talk alone.
Ty starts to cry.
CHRIS
He is crying. He cannot get upset.
MICHAEL
I know all about his stomach.
CHRIS
He should go to bed.
Michael looks at Chris.
MICHAEL
Chris, leave us alone.
Chris walks off.
TY
Do you want me to go to bed?
Michael looks at Ty.
MICHAEL
Are you tired?
Ty wipes the tears off his face.
TY
Not really.
MICHAEL
It is okay to cry.
TY
He doesn't want me to cry.
MICHAEL
Chris is just concerned about your stomach. I am too. You are allowed to cry. We just want to keep you in good health. How is your stomach feeling?
TY
It feels okay.
Michael hugs Ty.
MICHAEL
I love you, sweet boy.
TY
I'm not sweet.
MICHAEL
Yes, you are.
INT. - MICHAEL'S HOUSE - AN HOUR LATER
John James and Gabriel watch as Michael walks over.
MICHAEL
I love you both very much.
JOHN JAMES and GABRIEL
We love you too.
Michael kneels. He hugs John James and Gabriel.
INT. - MICHAEL'S HOUSE - TEN MINUTES LATER
Chris watches as Michael walks over.
MICHAEL
I know you love Ty, Gabriel, and John James but remember they are my children. You are their uncle. I am their father.
John, Nate, and Jase walk over.
MICHAEL
I am their father.
CHRIS
Yes you are their father.
MICHAEL
Stop acting like you are their father.
CHRIS
No.
Chris walks off. Jase shakes his head.
