INT. – MICHAEL’S HOUSE, GABRIEL’S BEDROOM – THREE HOURS LATER

Gabriel is on the bed. He is leaning against three pillows. Michael walks in. Gabriel looks at him.

MICHAEL

I know the tests say you are not injured but I still want you to rest.

Michael walks to the bed.

MICHAEL

Why were you on the roof?

GABRIEL

I wanted to stop a guy from jumping but I couldn’t.

MICHAEL

It is not your responsibility to save every suicidal person.

Gabriel starts to cry.

GABRIEL

No one was there for my parents.

MICHAEL

You were.

Michael sits on the bed facing Gabriel on his left side.

MICHAEL

You are a sweet boy but you cannot save everyone.

Michael hugs Gabriel. Jase walks in.

JASE

I could not see the face of the man that caught you.

Michael backs up.

JASE

Was that the same man that helped you two other times?

GABRIEL

Yes. I asked his name but he didn’t tell me.

MICHAEL

I will check on you later.

Michael kisses Gabriel on the forehead then stands up.

MICHAEL

Rest.

Michael walks out of the room. He walks in Ty’s bedroom. Ty is on the bed. He is leaning against three pillows. Michael walks to the bed. Ty looks at him.

MICHAEL

Why were you in that building on fire?

TY

I wanted to help people.

MICHAEL

Sweet boy, you cannot save everyone.

Michael sits on the bed on Ty’s left side.

MICHAEL

I do not want you in danger.

TY

I didn’t think about any danger. I saw the flames and didn’t want anyone to get hurt.

MICHAEL

You are such a sweet boy.

TY

I’m not.

MICHAEL

You are.

Chris walks in.

CHRIS

No more dangerous stunts.

MICHAEL

I need you to be safe. Please do not put yourself in danger again.

TY

I’m sorry if I hurt you.

Michael kisses Ty on the forehead then backs up slightly.

MICHAEL

How did you get out of the fire?

TY

I don’t know. I woke up here.

MICHAEL

You have no idea how you got to the hospital.

TY

I don’t.

MICHAEL

Get some rest.

Michael stands up.

MICHAEL

I will check on you later.

Michael walks out.

MICHAEL (O.C.)

Come on, Chris.

CHRIS

Close your eyes.

Ty closes his eyes. Chris walks out.
