INT. – MICHAEL’S HOUSE – MIDNIGHT

Gabriel is sitting on the couch. He is crying. Michael walks over. He kneels facing Gabriel.

MICHAEL

Are you in physical pain?

Gabriel looks at Michael.

GABRIEL

No.

MICHAEL

Did you have a bad dream?

GABRIEL

I dreamt about my birth parents and my brother.

MICHAEL

Are you thinking of hurting yourself?

GABRIEL

No.

MICHAEL

Tell me what you are feeling and thinking.

GABRIEL

I’m sorry if I woke you up.

MICHAEL

Do not worry about that. I am here for the five of you no matter what time it is. Tell me what you are feeling and thinking.

GABRIEL

I still think about my birth parents and my brother.

MICHAEL

Of course you do.

GABRIEL

They loved him very much. I did too. It was hard when I lost him. But then.

GABRIEL

(beat)

I still needed them. Why couldn’t they stay alive for me?

Michael hugs Gabriel.
