GABRIEL

Why are we never at them?


PEARL

The two of you work here.


GABRIEL

So we can’t be adopted?


PEARL

Do not ask me questions. Just do what I tell you.


Pearl walks off. Ty sits on the bed by the left corner. Gabriel turns to face him.


GABRIEL

You rarely talk.


TY

No one cares what I think.


GABRIEL

I do.


Ty looks at Gabriel.


GABRIEL

You can always talk to me.


TY
