INT. - HOSPITAL - NEXT DAY, 11 A.M.

Gabriel walks over to PEARL, 42. She looks at him.

GABRIEL

Why didn't you tell me he wasn't my birth father?

PEARL

I don't know.

GABRIEL

Why wouldn't you let me know my birth father?

PEARL

I hate Chris.

GABRIEL

He's my father. He wanted to know me and I would have wanted to know him.

Pearl walks off. Gabriel starts to cry. Michael walks over.

Gabriel wipes tears off his face.

MICHAEL

It is okay to cry.

GABRIEL

I need a few minutes. I'll get back to work in a few minutes.

MICHAEL

Do not worry about that. You can talk to me.

Gabriel looks at Michael.

GABRIEL

Thanks. I'll be all right.

Gabriel walks off. Ty walks over. Gabriel looks at him.

GABRIEL

I'll be back in a few.

TY

What's wrong?

GABRIEL

I just need a few minutes.

TY

You can talk to me.

GABRIEL

I know.

Gabriel walks off. Ty starts to cry. He wipes tears off his face. John James walks over.

JOHN JAMES

Why were you crying?

Ty looks at John James.

JOHN JAMES

Tell me.

TY

Gabriel is upset.

JOHN JAMES

Where is he?

TY

He said he needed a few minutes then walked off.

JOHN JAMES

I will talk to him later. How are you feeling?

TY

We had it easy.

JOHN JAMES

How do you mean?

TY

We grew up with parents that love us.

JOHN JAMES

The Lord blessed us with loving parents.

TY

Gabriel had no one.

JOHN JAMES

He has us.

Ty walks off.
